There is a groundswell of opinion that we must do things differently - and a fresh approach to contracts is an essential element in achieving change. The 2023 Symposium seeks to learn from and build upon the proactive contracting approach, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. “proactive contracting and the law” brings academics and practitioners together in a forum where they will turn theories into practice and identify a forward-looking research agenda.

What is the event?

An immersive two-day event with both in-person and virtual components. We'll kick off virtually with hard-hitting debates and real-life case studies to bring the concept to life. Then pre-selected groups of our academics and practitioners in Europe and Americas will gather together to workshop key challenges, gaps in research and practical guidance. The event will culminate online where each hub will bring their findings, cross-pollinate ideas and harvest outcomes. Both opening and closing sessions will be open and free for all to watch, learn and comment.
