Adriana Salazar is a Senior Procurement Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where she works with Latin American and Caribbean countries to ensure that their public procurement systems operate with transparency, integrity, and sustainability to improve the efficiency of public spending and the quality of services provided to their citizens. She has 16 years of experience in public policy analysis, design, and implementation, with expertise in public investment, project economic appraisal, energy infrastructure, social policy, public procurement, and sustainability. Prior to joining the IDB, she worked with the Mexican federal government as Director of Economic Studies at the Public Procurement Unit, where she helped design and implement the new public procurement system, which won the United Nations Public Service Award. She has also served as Deputy Director of Investment Projects in the Energy Sector, as an expert in socio-economic evaluation, and as Deputy Director of Public-Private Partnerships for Energy Infrastructure in the Ministry of Finance. Adriana graduated with honors in Economics from the Technological Institute of Monterrey in Mexico, with additional studies at Örebro University in Sweden and Yale University in the United States. She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
